Empowering positive change through careers education, the week-long national celebration of careers, National Careers Week, saw Fairs held across the region. NMiTE Ingenuity Studio was busy attending a number of events from Monday 4th to Friday 8th March.

The NMiTE Ingenuity Studio team, supported by Prof. Martha Guerrero and members of the Design Cohort, attended Meet Your Future. Held on Tuesday 5th March 2019 and located at Hereford Sixth Form College as a partnership between HSFC, Hereford College of Arts and Herefordshire and Ludlow College, the event was attended by 914 highly engaged young people. The team engaged them in discussions about contemporary engineering through scanning numerous young people and printing 3D fabricated heads.

As part of our engagement in National Careers Week the team attended Powys Careers Festival, Choose Your Future, on March 6th  2019 held at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society showground in Builth Wells, Powys that was attended by 3000 young people. Organised by the Positive Pathways Powys partnership (which is comprised of Careers Wales, Powys High Schools, NPTC, Cambrian Training and PAVO) this was the second Powys Schools Careers Festival.

At both events we were amongst a number of other industries raising awareness among young people of the range of career options that are available to them when they leave school the team. Many young people are unaware of all the various strands to engineering. We look forward to attending both events again next year.
